Based near the seaside in Pembrokeshire, Croft Court was facing a number of render issues which had been developing over a number of years. Water damage and algae caused by the weather conditions and high levels of sea salt had played a part in its deterioration. All previous renders that had been installed had failed and this was having a negative impact on the residents of Croft Court and as such, Pembrokeshire Housing Association. The housing association needed a solution that would be weather appropriate and would provide lasting results for the properties.
Thermorend was recruited to solve the problem and began the process by carrying out a survey of the property, resulting in proposed repair solutions that would improve building longevity. With budget being a main concern for the housing association, Thermorend ensured that all solutions that it offered were affordable and were in budget. The solution implemented was a Terrix dispersion-silicate render that has a high protection against salt, water and algae. This improved the building’s aesthetic which had been previously damaged and made a significant improvement to the overall building aesthetic. This particular product also ensures that there are minimal ongoing maintenance costs, making for an improved living situation for residents now and in the future.
